The tech stack

We use a modern technology stack including React.js (frontend); Go/Node.js (backend); Swift/Kotlin/C++ (mobile); AWS/Kafka/Kubernetes (infrastructure).

The role

This Senior Frontend Engineer sits within one of our Platform Engineering Teams. You'll be empowered to manage complex architectural decisions and drive change. You’ll own delivery of practical solutions to solve real-world problems for customers, with the knowledge that what you build has an immediate positive impact.

The teams

In Sydney we have teams developing and supporting our SaaS platform, working on extending the functionality and longer term strategic bets, including real-time incident reporting, analytics, and IoT. Each team has a product manager, designer, direct access to customers, and support from specialists in quality, SRE and specific technologies. Essential Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of React.js and associated libraries/frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of user behavior and ability to empathize with users.
  • Ability to translate user needs into intuitive and frictionless interfaces.
  • Meticulous focus on UI/UX design elements for consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex issues.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging frontend functionality, browser compatibility, and performance.
  • Excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Clear and concise communication to articulate ideas, discuss requirements, and provide project updates.
  • Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and adhering to coding standards.
  • Experience with code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Desirable Skills

  • Experience with User Management Features.
  • Experience with frontend edge infrastructure.
  • Experience mentoring and teaching others.
  • Understanding of caching, server-side rendering, CDNs.
  • Experience with frontend build pipelines and tooling (mono-repos, automated testing).
  • Experience with key/value stores and relational databases.
  • Building and running SaaS or cloud services at scale.
